
The hospital started as a small clinic, in a small tin building. Since then it has grown from that shack to a 130 – bed hospital, with a medical staff of 80 people. The hospital continues to grow and serve 300,000 people who live in the Usangu Plains, and the Southern Highlands.

HOWELL FERGUSON is the academic dean of the Chimala Bible College and its stateside coordinator for the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver. Howell, a native of Memphis, TN and his wife Mary of Montgomery, AL have three children, Sarah, Seth, and Nathan.

The studies are quite intensive for the Tanzanians. Many times when students arrive some can hardly read or write. Often they know very little about the scriptures. Thus, in two years, we take those who have had little or no formal training and education and try our best to make Gospel Preachers out of them.

The year, 1999, saw the beginning of the Chimala Christian School with only grade one available. Since then, we have been able to add through grade seven. This will result in the 2007 school year having 460 students enrolled.

BILL & CINDI STINSON arrived safely in Chimala the latter part of January 2007. Since then they have been very busy trying to learn every aspect of the work before Darrin departs. They also must learn all of this while dealing with a new language and culture.

CHRIS & TAM RAYNOR have faithfully served the Lord in Chimala since January 2004. They recently signed on to serve at least another two years in Chimala, putting them there at least through December 2008.
